Where do I begin?

Welcome to my first offical blog! The reason behind starting this blog is simple really. There's way more of us struggling to navigate our way through life than people care to admit. Let's face it, life is not the same as it was when we were growing up (yes, I'm a child of the 80's). Where there wasn't a thousand different after school or weekend classes that we were expected to do. Hell, I don’t even think my parents knew what subjects we were doing at school! Now parents are expected to have child prodigies that are experts in all fields! And if you haven't achieved that, well then you MUST be a FAILURE as a parent, right?!

When did this change happen? What happened to the days when kids actually had free time after school to ride their bikes and play in the park and climb trees? How is this version of life better? All I see are stressed out parents, stressed out kids, anxiety and depression through the roof... and for what? To run around and say your kid is enrolled in X,Y,Z?

I long for those days where computers were not a thing, where internet and social media was non-existent, where just hanging out together was so much fun. All these things may have been a positive for businesses and the economy, but it certainly wasn't a positive for our friendships and relationships. Sure, there may be the rare few relationships formed over these platforms, but for the most part, it has been the downfall of society and communication.

On top of all this, humanity and the general caring for our fellow humans, seems to be slowly dwindling away. The selfishness, greed, and self promotion and caring only about oneself and how to get ahead (regardless of who you step on to get there), are all part of why I do feel "stressed and depressed". The heartbreak of relationships falling apart because of all the egocentric, selfish nastiness is hard to bear.

Let's come together, in a safe, non-judgemental place, to support one another and encourage each other to do the best we can in this harsh, unkind world. One by one, we can work together to make a difference. Each and every one of us has the ability to make someone's day just a little bit better just by knowing you.

Don’t get me wrong, there will be a bit of venting, bitching and moaning and releasing steam on this blog. But that's only to show how human we really are and that things are really not as perfect as those "perfect" mummy bloggers try to portray on Facebook! We know better 😉

I'll leave this post here and I hope you will be joining me on celebrating our differences but also to be able to complain about all the sh** that comes our way!

Feeling like I'm drowning and begging for help on most days.
